Fiji Live Rock vs Pukani Live Rock vs Aquacultured Live Rock

There are many choices when it comes to Live Rock and Dry Rock for your saltwater aquarium.  Some people will swear by one type while others another and to make this whole debate even more complicated, the political climate is ever changing.  Live Rock that is available today from one country may cease to exist seemingly overnight.  While personal preference may be one of the key factors in deciding which type of Live Rock to purchase there are still many pros and cons for each type.

Fiji Live Rock

Pros:

  • Fiji live rock is lightweight and porous.

Cons:

  • Fiji live rock is usually shipped over on container ships. Most if not all the elements that make it alive will die off in this long journey.
