ARC Reef’s “Reef Stacker” Dry Rock Aquascaping kits

Introducing the new and never-before-seen “Reef Stacker” Dry Rock.  Comes with acrylic connecting rods AND frag plugs. Perfect for stacking together to create arches, caves, and swim-throughs. Perfect for creating beautiful aquascapes with no other tools needed. Every piece of our Dry Rock is individually selected by hand for its extraordinary appearance, unique shape, and maximum porosity. Only about 5% of dry rock that we examine will make the cut and be branded ARC Reef Dry Rocks.

Why ARC Reef Dry Rock is the Best Aquarium Dry Reef Rock

  • We are the only company that predrills nearly every rock with additional holes! They are the perfect size to fit coral frag plugs. These extra holes make it possible for you to add coral plugs to your aquarium in the future.
  • We are the ONLY company to sterilize every rock prior to shipment. You will never introduce unwanted bacteria, contaminants, or organics to your tank with our dry reef rocks.
  • We bubble-wrap every single dry rock! With other companies, you get a box of rock that has turned to rubble during the shipping process. We protect every rock that ships out.
  • Every rock is 100% precured. Does not need to soak or cure. Ready to drop it directly into your saltwater fish tank or any marine aquarium.
  • All our Dry Rock and Live Rock are calcium carbonate based and make an excellent calcium and alkalinity buffer for saltwater aquariums and fish tanks.
  • They are mined from inside the earth and not from a coral reef. They are a byproduct of mining for more dense materials that are found deep below this very porous type of dry rock.
  • Lab analysis shows that our Dry Rock contains less than half the phosphates contained within Fiji Dry Rock, and nearly 400% less than Pukani Dry Rock.
  • Our Dry Rock is the premium Swiss cheese type of Dry Rock that is so highly sought after.
  • We encourage custom requests for specific shapes and sizes free of charge and we try our best to pick every order exactly as you requested. Just add your requests at checkout.
  • Comes with our 100% Unconditional Lifetime Warranty – unhappy at any point with your selection, even if you destroy your rocks for any reason, we will exchange your old ones for a brand new selection absolutely free of charge.
  • Sustainably harvested and environmentally friendly.  Every purchase helps us to replant coral reefs right here in the U.S.  We’ve created over 43,500 sq. ft. of new coral reefs so far.

How Much Dry Base Rock do I Need?

Aquarium rock is the “biological filter” of your reef tank. Having enough rock in your aquarium is absolutely essential for a healthy reef tank. The rocks serve as the primary location for beneficial bacteria and marine life that will convert ammonia excreted by your fish into nitrate.

1-1.5 lbs. per gallon is the common ratio of Live Rock for normal tank situations. 2 lbs per gallon if your aquarium will be heavily stocked and you tend to overfeed your fish regularly or if your Live Rocks will be the only biological filter for the tank and you are not using a sand-bed. The more Live Rock you have the more stable your chemistry will be.  Live Rock provides superior biological filtration and is essential for the long-term success of any aquarium.

ARC Reef’s Cleaning & Sterilization Process

After being hand-picked, every dry rock is then soaked and cleaned at our quarry location to remove all sand and silt.  After being transported to our warehouse every reef rock is then sterilized with high-pressure steam. The combined high heat and pressure open up all the pours of rock, dramatically increasing the surface area on and within the rock. This intense cleaning process takes much time but the end result is a premium-grade dry rock that is absolutely beautiful, chock full of holes, and is 100% ready to add to your aquarium straight out of the box.

Return Your Unused Portion of Dry Rock for a Refund

If you order too much, just return your unused portion.  We will accurately weigh your returned portion and issue you a refund back to the credit card that you used when you placed your order.

100% Unconditional Lifetime Warranty

All ARC Reef products come with our 100% unconditional lifetime warranty.  We stand behind all our aquacultured products for their entire life and yours!  If you are unhappy with your Dry Rocks, Live Rocks, Live Sand, or Coralline Algae products in any way or simply need to start all over again, we will replace your purchased item free of charge for the full lifetime of your ownership.

20% of All Proceeds Go to Rebuilding our Coral Reefs

To date, we have successfully planted over 43,560 sq. ft. of new coral reefs and expect this number to double within the next year. Our marine conservation efforts, reef cleanups, and beach cleanups are all funded 100% of our product sales.  Thank you for not only choosing certified aquacultured products but for directly contributing towards our efforts of rebuilding coral reefs right here in the US.

ARC Reef – Certified Aquaculture

ARC Reef is a state and federally-licensed aquaculture facility and marine research laboratory specializing solely in sustainable aquaculture processes and using the proceeds to benefit our marine ecosystems.  We are currently working each day on our offshore reef project called “Heart Reef Miami”. We are actively culturing a variety of different coral and algae species offshore and are involved with propagating 3 species of endangered corals; Elkhorn Coral (Acropora cervicornis), Staghorn Coral (Acropora cervicornis) and Pillar Coral (Dendrogyra cylindrus).

We urge you to enjoy the hobby responsibly and choose aquacultured products when available. One of the most disturbing actions in the marine aquarium trade is that there are many companies that are breaking up the reefs with destructive methods like dynamite and crowbars. They are removing healthy sections of the reef from the ocean and bleaching them in the sun to kill off all life and corals contained on and within the rock, then once all life on the rocks is completely dead, they spray them down and export them to the U.S and other countries calling them “Dry Rock”.  So when consumers in the U.S. are purchasing Dry Rock that came from the Indo-Pacific such as Fiji Dry Rock, Tonga Dry Rock, and Pukani Dry Rock, they are actually purchasing “Live Rock” that has been killed and reclassified as Dry Rock. This is the reason why these so-called “Dry Rocks” require up to 6 months of curing time. Retailers of these products try sprucing up this practice with buzz lines like, “Picked fresh from the ocean”, or “100% naturally collected”.  No matter how they phrase it, it means that someone went into the water and pulled apart a living coral reef to sell.  In the U.S. this is considered a felony that has a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.  Many countries including the U.S. and Bahamas have banned this destructive practice years ago,  yet the U.S. still remains the top importer of “Dead Dry Rocks”.  There are many aquaculture facilities in the U.S. that sustainably farm Live Rock and Base Rock, we implore you to please choose any one of us and let our natural coral reefs stay in the ocean where they belong.  We are losing our coral reefs at an alarming pace and it is shocking to find that hobbyists with a dire passion for the marine ecosystem could unknowingly aid in its own destruction.  Once our coral reefs are gone, they are gone forever.  Please say no to wild-harvested Dry Rock and Live Rock products.

  1. Peter Kipling

Great Dry rock, I had a mix of big round and oval pieces and a few flat long ones that worked out great as shelf rock. Arrived fast and undamaged. Now that I have my base down I’ll be placing an order for your premium live rock asap so I can get the tank looking snazzy. It was more holey than my Fiji Pukani live rock too, that might be worth mentioning.

  2. Brian Kendricks

I thought I was going to need to glue these base rocks together but they locked together tight and never budged, they are very holey, tank looks great now.

  4. Rob Wallace

Got half dry rock half live rock and some sand. Very happy with all of it. Was better than expected. Will buy again.

  5. Hampton

Extremely satisfied! I purchased dry rock with a bonus coralline rock via Amazon. Arrived within estimated delivery timeframe, yet ARC apologized for any delay with a handwritten note and included bonus dry rock and SEVERAL bonus live rocks (all of which were completely coated in at least 5 different colors of coralline and chock full of colorful feather dusters and other critters!). Nearly a year later, and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Will only buy rock from here in the future, and excited to try the sand too!

I just recieved my rock shipment today. Absolutely beautiful rock. Very porous and ready for aquascaping. They even threw in some rods and some plugs. It was packaged great. Nothing broke or cracked. Some sediment from shipping but nothing major. All was bubble wrapped really well. This is my first saltwater tank and this rock is going to make it look great! Thank you guys! I hope to order more from you guys as my need arises. Really impressed.

The reef stacker dry rock I received was great rock. It was well packaged and had no breakage. And the connecting rods that were sent with the rock are an added benefit. I sent dimensions of the tank in the order and they selected the perfect sizes to fit properly. Unbelievable customer service. You won’t go wrong buying here.

  8. Kanton Wheats

Best dryrock n liverock ANYWHERE!!! I bought it on Amazon but I will buy from your site next time as it’s cheaper here. keep it coming

  9. Theo

Amazing Rock! Looks better and is lighter weight then ANY rock I’ve used in the past. Love the added rods also, they make stacking the rock a piece of cake. I will never buy live rock again.

  10. Jeremy

Ordered through amazon. But wanted to find and write a review on here also. Placed order and recieved in less then a week. Rock arrived in great condition didn’t take long to figure out the scape I wanted. 45 pounds is almost perfect for my 55 gallon. Might add more later but overall quality material and packaging can’t wait to see how the tank progresses. Will always suggest arc for rock when people ask. Only one ceramic plug was broken but a little bonding compound not even worried. Thanks again Arc

Received my rock yesterday, could not be happier. The packaging was great maybe 4oz of rubble from a 35 lb order. As comparison ordered 5lbs of flat stax rock from another company and got 1.5 lbs of rubble. I was able to tell ARC what size my tank was and what I would like for rock and they exceeded my expectations. Will order from them again!
Thank you for the great product and your rebuilding the natural reefs.

  12. Henry

I bought this for my son, he really loves his aquarium and these rocks. I feel it was a good purchase, I refuse to order live rock because once my tank was overrun by tiny starfish that hitched a ride on live rock. Using dryrock for aquascaping you can’t go wrong. When I weighed the package it was 5 lbs more than I ordered. Very Happy A++ rating

  13. Issah

Best Dry Rock ANYWHERE! Better and more holey than Marco rocks. Love the rods, it was an ingenious idea to add them and cut holes. It makes stacking them into cool designs very easy.

  14. Natasha_rah9294

Love this rock. You don’t need to clean it, it’s ready to go right rom the box. Beautiful shapes, tons of holes drilled and I love the included rods and coral plugs, very nice touch.

See you later I will be back to buy again!

Absolutly beautiful Dryrock! It was the perfect size for my 55 gal aquarium reef tank. One piece was a cave piece and I had no idea that would be included in the order. My fish love swimming through that rock. Thank you guys! 5 stars!

Awesome Rock, 40lbs. Five nice pieces came in. I have nothing but praise for this company. I have seeded my 300 gallon with there Coraline Algae. Now I have used dried rock for my kids 25 gallon tanks.

  20. James Teems

Perfect Base rock for My Aquarium. I purchased Reef Stacker Dry Rock from ARC Reef, and it made the perfect base for my coral reef aquarium. It’s easy to stack with the rods so no need for any glue, and the texture is very holey. The rock has been in my tank for a while now, and it still looks great and didnt go through any diotom phase either. Highly satisfied!

  21. Little Big Snake

Can I just say what a pleasure it was to buy from you guys. I called twice and both times the agent was helpful and gave some great advice. Great customer service and great looking dry rock. There were twice as many holes is in the photos. Very happy with this purchase.

Impressive Aquascaping Kit. Very complete too. I got the ARC Reef Reef Stacker Dry Rock aquascaping kit, and it exceeded my expectations. The variety of shapes allowed me to create a stunning underwater landscape. The rock is sturdy, doesn’t crumble or break, the color is pure white, and adds character to my reeftank. A must-buy for anyone into reefing!

    Top-Quality Dry Reef Rock
ARC REEF STACKER Rock is the best dry reef rock I’ve used. It’s lightweight, easy to work with, and looks fantastic in my aquarium. No pests or algae issues. I’ve had it for months, and it still looks better than any other rock Ive seen in any other saltwater reef tanks. The corals seem to like it and the coralline algae I bought from them is already spotting up the rocks and adding a lot of purple colors to the tank.

  26. Dave Mellon

Great Rock, Got it in about a week but Monday was a holiday so thats fine. Prob. better rock than I’ve seen anywhere else and looked a lot better in person than the photos which is good. Will buy again if I have the need.

  27. Mrs Stevens 5th grade classroom

My class would like to thank ARC reef for their donation to our classroom. Our science room looks much better now and all the students are extremely thankful for your generous donation. We will learn about the marine ecosystem first hand. The rock was beautifull and will be used for many years.

  28. HenryRendall1997

I ordered 100lbs and you sent out 120. When does that EVER happen. Thank you guys you are a great company and I love that 20% goes to building your offshore reefs. We need more companies like yours!

  29. Kevin Balendakis

    Excellent Product, Highly Recommend!
I purchased ARC Reef’s Reef Stacker Dry Rock, and I couldn’t be happier. The rock is clean, pest-free, and perfect for aquascaping. It added a beautiful natural look to my saltwater aquarium. Highly recommend this product! Came with 6 connecting rods and 6 frag plugs for corals.

  30. Ryan C.

Best rock for stacking! Came with connecting rods that easily fit inside the all the holes they drilled in the rock and then stacking another rock ontop using the rod, genious idea! I have not seen any other company sell this design, I only wish I came up with it! The included frag plugs also fit the drilled holes perfectly also, I can stick all my zoas on plugs right inside all the holes.
